Creative Work: 1961 Women's Weekly Collage
Prior to starting the Architectural Studies program, I didn't really complete any "conventional" pieces of work. My creative side tends to reveal itself in smaller projects around the house, and this would be one of the larger ones I have displayed in my apartment. This is a collage I created on a 2100x1100 canvas. I found a 1961 Women's Weekly Magazine and ripped up the parts I found aesthetically pleasing, then stuck them on in random order onto the canvas using clear impasto. I like this piece because it is a bold and quirky addition to my living room and has plenty of articles for guests to read when they're over!
